In a monastery garden
The climate in this region is quite Mediterranean, despite the fact that it is situated a bit too far north and has no coast line. But the lush growth of vegetation and the magnificent overflow of flowers will certainly give you the impression of being much further south, like the Canary Islands.
The stillness, the flowers, the little waterfalls, the pathways, small paintings of saints here and there - surely this must be an image of what Heaven could be like?
However, the gardens are just as off-limit to regular tourists as the monastery itself - but it makes a nice background for day-dreaming when the weather turns grey and cold and rainy outside...
