Hiking in Valle Verzasca

There are more or less well kept paths along the valley, and you'll frequently find signs pointing out the directions, and also the way to the nearest bus stop, should you decide that you've done enough walking.

'More or less well kept' - well, that is because of the floods in the spring, when the water from the melting snow causes mud slides. One year I was surprised to discover that the path had been redirected - stepping over the rope I looked around the corner - and instead of a path there was now a pile of huge rocks!

We had brought food and water and took a break every now and then, having a picnic, enjoying the scenery. The mountain air has a tiring effect, and that evening we fell asleep unusually early and slept very soundly indeed.
