The river water comes from higher up in the mountains, from the melting snow and the glaciers - and it's cold! That's my mother bathing her feet - she actually managed to stay in the water longer than I did, because my feet didn't go numb from the ice-cold water - they started aching instead...
And don't ask me how the man in the background managed to seat himself in the water - he was there when we arrived to this spot, and he was still there when we left. Extreme self-control is my guess...
