As of December 4, 1997, Tor Books has demanded that I remove The Far Snows Dance from my web pages, and also to not further distribute it. Please, do not ask me to send you copies by e-mail - all such inquiries will be answered with a 'No'.

For those who are interested, here is the relevant part from the mail I received from Tor Books:
I [Paul J. Sleven - ed.] am Associate General Counsel for Tom Doherty Associates ("Tor"), the publisher of Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series.
I am writing on behalf of Tor to demand that you immediately remove the material entitled "The Far Snows Dance" from your Web page and immediately cease and desist from all use of that material. As you admit on your Web page, that material is a clear infringement of Robert Jordan's copyright in THE FIRES OF HEAVEN. In addition, the use of Tor's tree icon with that material, together with the statement that the icon is used with Tor's permission, creates the false impression that Tor has approved your infringement. Given the sexually explicit nature of your material and the fact that Mr. Jordan's works are particularly popular with young adults for whom such material is highly inappropriate, that impression is damaging to Tor's reputation.
