On June 15-18 1995 Robert Jordan visited the East of the Sun (In Swedish Östan om Sol) fantasy convention in Stockholm as a Guest of Honour. He attended two seminars, signed books, read aloud from the prologue of Crown of Swords (as ACoS hadn't received its A at the time), had a Q&A-session and generally proved himself an enjoyable person. This is the texts I wrote to rasfwr-j about the event.
My summary of the first part of the Crown of Swords prologue, read by Robert Jordan at the Convention. Since Tor now have released the finished prologue on the Web, and the entire book been released, this is pretty obsolete, but it's of historical interest.
Contains minor spoilers for Book Nine
Some comments to the CoS prologue summary. Also pretty obsolete, this is mainly a few observations I posted at the same time as I posted the summary.
A summary of the interview made by Helena Löfgren with Robert Jordan.
Notes from other talks with Robert Jordan during the East of the Sun.
Besides myself, the present darkfriends were Johan Klockars and Bo Lindbergh. We had originally planned to have some sort of DFS at the con as well, but handling the CoS prologue summary took too much time, so it was basically limited to Bo having taped a paper with the letters "DFS" on his attaché case. (Hey, this must be the longest time ever between a social and the report for it being written...)
If you can read Swedish, Hans Persson has written a report from the event.
