Jörgen's model railroad stuff

The thing with model railroads is that it is such a fascinating subject! I have always been deeply interested in miniatures... if it is very small, but still works almost as the 'real' thing is fun to 'play' with! As example of such things I can mention miniature screwdrivers, dice, microscopes, cars, radios, knives... Well.. basically anything that is a miniature of a 'real' thing, and works...
Ok, then... This model railroad business then, what about that? Well, I think I was about 4 years of age, when I got this second hand Märklin set. My father and I built a layout and drove the train... (or maybe it was my father who built and testdrove, and after that I was allowed to drive..) We used to build a layout on the floor once or twice a year, for a couple of weeks, and after that 'unbuild' it and put it in a box until next 'season'. We usually built it in half autumn, when it started to get darker in the evenings, so that the lights should show better... This behaviour has basically stayed with me, to build a layout on the floor, but unfortunately it has become more seldom now, with increasing age... ;) However, I am buying parts and things, building houses, etc, while waiting for the opportunity to build a stationary layout.. One of my problems, though, is that I only have the older M-rails, which could be a problem if I want to digitalize my trains in the future.. So far I have only been using two engines (I only have two...) with possibility to electrically disconnect two sections of the track (in my self-built scratch locoshed).. Well, it is what it is, and I enjoy driving with my two trains, but it had been fun to drive digital...
Well, time, place and economy decides if and/or when this dream may come true...

May your stock never stop rolling!
