Opal will release a new line of sock yarn, inspired by the works of the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. At the same time, a leaflet with interesting sweater designs will be published. I was surprised to see that my favourite colourway is called "the road to socialism!, I supposed it's paved with good intentions...

Hundertwasser was an architect, an artist and a poet. He designed his own clothes, including socks and shoes:

"Man fragt immer:
Herr Hundertwasser, warum tragen Sie zwei verschiedene Socken?
Dazu meine stereotype Antwort:
Warum tragen Sie zwei gleiche Socken?"

(People always ask: "Mr Hundertwasser, why are you wearing two different socks?" I always reply: "Why are you wearing two identical socks?")
