Knitty fall surprises

The Knitty surprises are up! This time there are three of them:
a pair of lovely felted pumpkins
knitted breast prothesises (!)
and Yorick, a felted scarf with skulls.

I am not a pumpkin person, and we don't celebrate Halloween, but these pumpkins tempt me...

The best laid plans...

When I came back from my summer holidays, I made a list of all my ongoing knitting projects. I decided which ones to finish first, and put deadlines that seemed realistic. I put a line in the list to show myself what I need to finish before I can start something new. Yeah right. The three projects I alternate between now are not in that list at all, but come from later flashes of inspiraion. Does it matter? I don't think so. This is a hobby, it's what I do to relax. I'll do it My Way.

Sock it to me, baby

Yesterday I received NINE balls of Opal sock yarn from Mariannes Sockenwolle. Two balls of the famous Tiger, one ball of Zebra, one Crocodile and some other pretty things whose names I have forgotten. One ball of Trekking XXL as well, very different from the Opal. I started on a tiger sock yesterday, and so far it's grrrrreat.

Fyra pyssliga månader?

Papadam Television söker två pysselansvariga för inspelningen av ett barnprogram. En projektanställning under perioden januari till april.

Moving on

My main blog is moving, the new address is www.boklov.se/lifedeluxe. This baby will follow, as soon as the other one is under control.

The rows on my Circular shrug are like half marathons now, but the finishing line - and miles of boucle - is in sight.

Magknits September!

Magknits September is out, and it's everything you need to come up with this year's greatest Christmas gifts or birthday presents. In my opinion this is their best issue so far, mixing fun and colour.

In order of appearance:
Collar me The strangest creature in this creation. Something for that special someone who dares to stand out and who would stash an ordinary striped wooly scarf in her top drawer and forget it.
Urban necessities Mitten-gloves and a tam for all those days balancing on the edge between autumn and winter. Maybe something for my balls of Phildar Auteuil in the Reinette colour.
Jaywalker A pair of socks, with a pattern that will make the most of almost any sock yarn, except maybe the fake fair-isle ones. I'm not really a sock-knitter but I have just ordered some Opal Tiger and Zebra from the Rainforest collection, and somehow some other beauties happened to come along. If I remember right, there is a lovely green variegated Opal that would look great in this pattern.
Nippertails Fun, fun, fun for pigtails and ponytails alike. The only problem is how to place the openings in the right place, or to adapt your hair-do. The result is super-cute.
Multi-directional silk. scarf A lovely scarf in two yarnweights but one colourway. Another one on my wishlist.
Tunis A new idea for using pearls in your knitting. I would choose other colours, but the idea is nice.
Garden variety gives a lot of inspiration for toys, embellishments for autumn jackets or bags, harvest displays, fragrance sachets etcetera. Mix up a Wooly Mary and garnish with a stalk of knitted celery!
