Marjut's tips for hard-core knitting
Marjut has a clever list of advice for how to knit faster and finish a lot of projects. The first two points:from her list:
1: Do not get a life. I repeat, do not get a life. It's much more fun to watch TV all night and knit.
2. If you do accidentally get a life, try to get a knitting life, so you can watch TV all night with your friends and knit.
My favourite line? Housework is for husbands.

Look, it's a photo!

This is how the Krasse shawl, wrap, whatever, turned out. All the reddish/orange shades are Kool-Aid dyed by yours truly, most of the yarn is Colinette. So this could be my Koolinette shawl! It's not mine anymore, I hope the new owner treats it well and does something about all those dangling yarn ends...

Talking balls
NSK-knitting: Talkin' to me?
The Dr Doolittle of the knitting world, Anne in Brussels, can hear her pretty yarn talk, but the skeins and balls don't say what they ought to (such as "yup, I would seriously like to grow up and become a responsible aran sweater"). Instead they simply state things like "What do you mean, "to become" something? We ARE something. We are balls of yarn. We're happy as we are. We're colourful, we're pretty, we're simply having a ball!"
Thanks Anne, for this morning's widest smile...

2005
Happy new year may not be the most appropriate greeting in these days of mourning and worries, but I still wish you all the best for the days, weeks and months ahead.
I finished my krasse wrap in time for Christmas (leaving two thirds of the ends for the recipient to weave in...).
The bag I started on the road to Düsseldorf last spring is finished, and it turned out OK.
I keep working on the blue destash-shawl, the rounds are getting longer but I still have a long way to go. I'm sure this will be a lovely thing to wear in our draughty livingroom at night!
In an act of random eBay madness, I bought some mixed blue yarns with far too much lurex. A party might be in the works for early March. I might come up with something for that event. Or not.
I expect my first Nordic Secret Friend II assignment any day now, if that person has a wishlist including the words blue and shiny, I will be able to make at least three people very very happy. Not bad. But knowing the NSF-participants, it will probably be someone with a yearning for homespun or silk.
This post needs photos, I know.
