Magknits September!
Magknits September is out, and it's everything you need to come up with this year's greatest Christmas gifts or birthday presents. In my opinion this is their best issue so far, mixing fun and colour.
In order of appearance:
Collar me The strangest creature in this creation. Something for that special someone who dares to stand out and who would stash an ordinary striped wooly scarf in her top drawer and forget it.
Urban necessities Mitten-gloves and a tam for all those days balancing on the edge between autumn and winter. Maybe something for my balls of Phildar Auteuil in the Reinette colour.
Jaywalker A pair of socks, with a pattern that will make the most of almost any sock yarn, except maybe the fake fair-isle ones. I'm not really a sock-knitter but I have just ordered some Opal Tiger and Zebra from the Rainforest collection, and somehow some other beauties happened to come along. If I remember right, there is a lovely green variegated Opal that would look great in this pattern.
Nippertails Fun, fun, fun for pigtails and ponytails alike. The only problem is how to place the openings in the right place, or to adapt your hair-do. The result is super-cute.
Multi-directional silk. scarf A lovely scarf in two yarnweights but one colourway. Another one on my wishlist.
Tunis A new idea for using pearls in your knitting. I would choose other colours, but the idea is nice.
Garden variety gives a lot of inspiration for toys, embellishments for autumn jackets or bags, harvest displays, fragrance sachets etcetera. Mix up a Wooly Mary and garnish with a stalk of knitted celery!
