Being a secret friend
I participate in the second round of the Nordic Secret Friends exchange, and soon it's time to send off the first package. We are supposed to buy something around 100 SEK/NOK/DKK. This is of course a very low budget, if you want to buy something nice. I took a trip to one of the yarn shops in the neighbourhood and found this lovely Plassard Estival in gorgeous colours. My budget would hardly be enough for two 50 g balls. And what would someone do with that?
In the end I bought something Useful to a very good price, and I hope it will be appreciated. I'll send it off soon, and then we'll see...

So, did you go to Esch or where was this Plassard Festival held? *innocent whistling*

Anne darling, I have seen your stash... So I know that strictly speaking, you don't need more yarn. I also know that if there is someone who could find good use for one single ball of beautiful fibre, then it's you!
I found Plassard Estivale, Boute-en-train, Lazer and possibly some other variety at Mercerie Marx in Belle Etoile (upper floor, close to Habitat). They don't have much yarn; except for the Plassard they have some run-of-the-mill Schoeller/Staahl and some of the less adventurous Fortissima Socka yarns. All yarn is on the same wall as the entrance, so you won't see it from the outside. That's why I thought they had stopped selling yarn and concentrated on American quilting stuff, ribbon and buttons.

Well...err.. (squirming) you've seen SOME of my stash. After carrying them into the living room, I realised that quite a lot of yarn was still missing but I couldn't be bothered to start looking for it under the bed or wherever. Besides, there's about the same amount left back home in Finland. But let's not discuss this any more.
Right, so Luxembourg offers some interesting shops but they're well hidden. I've been to the shop you mentioned, and it's a real paradise for quilters. Yarns weren't that common a few years ago, and I could swear there wasn't any Plassard available back then. Hmm. Makes one think of a spring trip there.
