Presenting Rocky kitten
Status Ondé: finished the back.
I have found the ideal backdrop for some Ondé pics. Tomorrow...?
Today I proudly present you the Rocky kitten. Last winter I knitted this top for my baby sister (whose 26th birthday we celebrate today!). I was inspired by a shocking pink top I saw somewhere on the web (Berocco's site?) but I used the fab eyelash Pep Print from Lana Grossa. I think I used the colourway 319. For the straps I used a tape in merino wool with something shiny mixed in.
How to do it: Check your gauge. Measure the bust. Cast on enough, but not more. You want this to fit closely. Knit a tube in the round, begin and end with a few rows of your strap yarn. Finish with a row of eyelets. Try on, estimate how long the straps need to be. Add them, using the eyelets, fasten securely, send to your rocker of choice. Match with black leather pants and a guitar.
Good thing/bad thing: people will want to pet you all the time, the knitted cloth feels very much like a kitten.

I was just thinking about packing the Sangria tank I knitted last summer, when it struck me that I ripped it halfway through. I was too annoyed with a mistake I had done in the ribbing. This is an action shot from the happy beginnings... If I had drunk the sangria while casting on, I would at least have a valid excuse for the stupid mistake I did... The yarn is still in my big box, maybe I should try to brew up Sangria 2, the new generation... The real sangria, alas, is gone.
