This is the Funksich logotype.
Let's all celebrate it's been 5 years since Funkisch stopped the show!

Suddenly Funkisch!Ok, so what happened? Well, times were changing back then in '97. All bandmembers (except PA) were in their early twenties and all eager to do something else. After trying and and later disband the most natural step in the band's career—to start a recordlabel—the Funkisch saga was over... Well, even if the band Funkisch wouldn't exist as the music-phenomenom it once was, however, the band continued to play... And how does that work, if I may ask? The answer is heavenly sent: Gospel.

Let's get one strange thing straight. It wasn't out of a new or old love for God or something, which is the natural gateway to playing and singing the gospel. No, their motifs were simpler and cruder than that: They were asked to. So, under the authority of Michelle Nakagawa the former Funkisch started a career as gospelmusicians for the young, upcoming and hip Stockholm East Gospel Choir. The choir was an excellent school for the boys. In particular to gain new and more complex skills in the musical arts. However, the gospeltrain pulled in to make its first stop in 1999 when bassist Jonas departed.

Ok, that's cool. But what do they do now? Let me tell you.

Andreas AlemanAndreas Aleman (keys & vox). Even though Andreas still plays the gospel he actually started a career in the wonderful world of songwriting. He teamed up with lyricist/songwriter/producer Brian Hobbs in the late nineties and formed Eidolon Productions AB. So, by now (or soon) he can reape the benefits of copyright and perhaps claim himself for a rich man. Rumours says that he now lives the quiet family-life in Hökarängen south of Stockholm, together with his girlfriend Michelle and her son Chimmy.

Jesper BengtsonJepser Bengtson (drums). Jesper stayed on the gospeltrain for a few more years while starting to educate himself to become a policeman. Now, after the hard years of training, he finally is one. A policeman, that is. The rumours about Jesper says that he lives in Sundbyberg all alone in a nice little apartment and that he drives a BMW! And he is also single! So, go for it girls! Make that move!

Jonas AndréJonas André (bass). Jonas went into bussiness trying to freelance as a graphic designer but put that aside for some years of musicstudies. In 1998 he started his education att SMK in Sthlm, but this time the instrument was Piano. After SMK, he moved to Skurup, Skåne to attend the famous jazz-school there for 2 years. And after that, he was accepted at the Music University in Malmö studying jazz and improvisation. Rumours says that he lives in a great looking apartment in Malmö together with his fiance Emeli.

Per-Anders Karlsson (guitar). PA, as he is known as among his friends, is still going strong. He still plays the gospel and also with a number of bands. However, his studies in computer networking paid off and he is now teaching the very same shit at NTI-skolan. The rumours says that he lives in Söder, Sthlm, together with his girlfriend Leila and their little baby-daugther. Isn't that cute?

The (former) band would like to thank everybody who helped us through all those years: Michelle Nakagawa, Olof Segerberg, Roger Skogh, Louise Palmstierna, Stefan Segolson, Solna Records, Cutting Room, Reklambyrån Bill & Bull, Stockholm East Gospel Choir, our parents and former and/or recent girlfriends + everybody else not mentioned.

Hallelujah!
