The glorious soulseekers
This hammondorgan trio was formed in 2002 in London with a goal to make a wide range of music. From the first rehearsal styles where mixed to form band sound. The repetoire is a mix of funk, jazz and hammond classics. And vocal standards sung by the guitarist Jerry Haglund. This trio has been performing regularly on the London jazzscene and has got great interaction, and entertainment value. Denna orgeltrio(hammond)bildades för ca tre år sedan i London, målet va att skapa en trio med bredd . Så från första repetition blandades stilarna Jazz, funk, blues och soul utan hämningar. Repertoaren består av traditionella funk och orgel klassiker men också av bebop och swing låtar samt en hel repertoardel med blues och jazz standards sjungna av gitarristen Jerry . Denna trio har spelat reguljärt på Londons jazzscen vilket resulterat i samspel, interaktion, och stort underhållningsvärde. Ben Reynolds Drums Having played drums since the age of ten Ben was performing on stage at fourteen. Voted winner of the Daily telegraph solo jazz scholarship award 1996 he has gone onto play in many prestigious venues across the Uk and abroad, including Jazz cafe ,the 606,Ronnie Scotts and the Vortex. His recent graduation with 1st class honours in jazz has led to career openings in radio, television, stage and session work. Ben has performed with some of londons finest jazz musicians including Bobby Wellins, Mark Lockhart, Jackie Dankworth, Kate Dimbelby, The Eddie parker band and living Jazz legend Stanley Black Pete Whittaker Hammond organ Originally from Wolverhampton UK but now living in London, Pete Whittaker's musical journey started with classical piano lessons. Concurrently, he taught himself to play by ear, and spent his teenage years playing in local rock bands before studying music at the University of East Anglia. While completing his studies in Norwich, Pete became interested in jazz piano and discovered the Hammond organ, in which he continues to specialize. Apart from touring stints with rock bands (namely The Wonder Stuff and The Catherine Wheel) Pete has concentrated on jazz, and has performed with many of London's jazz musicians. Present projects include a new organ band with Australian guitarist Carl Orr and drummer Nick France, and a quintet "Grooveyard" led by flautist Gareth Lockrane and saxophonist Alex Garnett. The latter has recently won an award from the Granada jazz festival in Spain. |
