SK0RG

Radioscouting has for a long time been a good complement to more normal scouting activities. Amateur radio is of course used during the JOTA, the Jamboree On The Air, but as scouts we can also use other types of "radio activities". For many years the JOTA has been a very good doorway for international scoutcontacts. Often the radiotalk is followed up by letters, e-mails and personal visits. The JOTA is next year 40 years old, so we guess it will be some Jubileecontacts during that 3'rd weekend of october, the recurrent date each year for the JOTA.

Last year we saw the dawn of the JOTI, Jamboree On The Internet. This will certainly grow in the coming years. But then you need the cord to the network...! Compared to run the JOTA with a small radio by a campfire in the middle of nowhere the JOTI has some way to go. With the cord!

For the normal and regular contacts over the world the internet has given us scouts vast new resources, swift and secure. That is one of the reasons why some of our scouters have started the Scoutradiogroup SK0RG.

This Scoutradiogroup is not a part of the Vendelso Scoutgroup in spite of that all of us now belongs to the Vendelso Scoutgroup. The aim of "Scoutradiogruppen" is to try to give any scout in any scoutgroup help to try out radioscout- and IT-activities. Give info about how you can get your own amateur radio callsign, recommend study-books, do examination tests for AR-certificates on behalf of the swedish "FCC" (i.e. the Post och Telestyrelsen) and last but not least to promote Internetscouting in all its varieties. The web-pages you are browsing now are one example of what we want to do, both in the Vendelso Scoutgroup and in other interested scoutgroups.

So far we have just begun our activities but if you are interested to participate in some way or another, or just want to learn more about our activities you are welcome to contact us. It is also possible to reach us by phone or by e-mail (click on the names):
