Vendelso Scoutgroup

På svenska, tack! Please sign the Guestbook

The Vendelso Scoutgroup belongs to the Sodertorn Scoutdistrict within the Svenska Scoutforbundet (SSF) which is one of the five scoutorganisations in Sweden. These five scoutorganisations have formed a cooperation group named Svenska Scoutunionen (SSR) in order to, among other things, take care of the international scoutrelations within WOSM and WAGGS.

The Vendelso Scoutgroup was established in the year 1959 and have for the time being about 300 members in a total of nine scouttroops ranging from the miniorscouts at 8, to the roverscouts at 18 years plus.

The Vendelso scouts wears a blue scoutshirt and a brown neckerchief with orange edging which you can see here.

Our Groups Scoutyell is often heard in the deep forests around Vendelso.

Our indoor scouting activities are mostly in one of our two scoutcottages, Kvarnangen and Svartbacken. For swedish circumstances these wooden houses are rather old. The Kvarnangen is more than 250 years old and Svartbacken has a 150-year jubilee coming in 1996 as it was the first public scool in the Vendelso community. Our main problem for the time beeing is that our community now again wants to turn Svartbacken into a scool-museum.
You are welcome to visit our different troops. Unfortunately they are only in swedish at the moment:

In addition to these, we also have a very special tenth "troop" called the "Skvadern". It consists only of adults interested in learning about scouting. The activities in Skvadern is a mix of all the things the young scouts do in the more normal troops. So by using the motto "Learning by doing" the Skvadern is used to spread info about scouting. It is a PR-activity which has given us several new scouters.

Here below you can find more info about us in the Vendelso Scoutgroup and about scouting in Sweden. Some in english, some in swedish and some in pictures.
