Tasmania

TASMANIA is located south of the Australian mainland. The nature and climat in Tasmania remainds very much of Europe. The first settlers came in the beginning of the 19:th century, and they started to hunt and kill the aborigines. It wasn't until the middle of the 19:th century the island got the name its current name. Tasmania is about the size of Ireland, but it's only less than 1% of Australias area, and the population on the island is about 500 000 inhabitants.
Many turists comes here to walk on the island or to fish- wich is very popular on Tasmania.

Hobart is the statecapital in Tasmania. There's many historical buildings, and the city of Hobart is probably one of Australias most wellpreserved historical city. The population in Hobart is about 180 000 inhabitants.
