Fröding was a very lonely and suffering person. His artistic sensitivity enhanced his sense of loneliness to unenviable depths. Born the 22nd august, 1860 at Alster mansion, he came from a family richly endowed both artistically and intellectually. As a child, he was alone and unpopular, resulting in a habit of talking to himself. I'll add some of his more depressing poems when I have the time.
