The Pre-school
We have three classes: one with young children, Rosa Tornet, and two with
older children, Pärltrappan and Räknestavarna. We are a team of enthusiastic teachers working here.
.
Our method
We work and play in accordance with the principles of Maria Montessori. The environment is adapted to the varying needs and skills of the children, which promotes independence and strengthens self-esteem. We look to the interests of the children and each child can develop at their own speed.
Practical exercises
The aim of the exercises is to practise fine- and gross motor skills and for the children to learn to manage daily routines like eating, getting dressed and going to the toilet on their own.

Sensorial exercises
Through working with the sensorial materials the children are made aware of their different senses:
taste, smell, sight, hearing and feeling.

|
Language materials
The children’s language skills are developed through the Montessori materials, songs and rhymes. A rich language makes learning to read and write easier, which is crucial for future learning.|
|
|
Mathematics
The maths materials give the children a concrete experience of mathematics. They are given opportunity to feel and experiment. The materials are graded from concrete to abstract and from simple to complex exercises.|
