I got these from a mail order company sight unseen (I love late war Luftwaffe stuff) and got them in the mail this afternoon. I got all three of the sheets (KD4801FD, KD4802FD, KD4803FD) because I had heard some interesting things about them and I loved the limited run sheets from Experten. The sheets each come in a large 8.5x11 zip loc and include 1 standard size (aka AMD, Superscale, TGR, CED) sheet of decals. The decals are printed by Microscale and are easily among the best I have ever seen. These are very comparable to AMD, TGR, CED as far as printing quality.
|
Each sheet comes with what are far and away the most impressive instructions I have ever seen for a decal sheet. We are talking FULL color 8.5x11 instructions with a side and top profile of 4
aircraft on each sheet. Scrap views of aircraft backsides and undersides are included where more detail is needed. Both RLM and FS numbers are provided for all relevent shades. Research is top notch, which means that the best possible current references are used.
|
How the folks at KommanDeur were able to look at a B/W photo of an aircraft taken from a funky angle and derive some of the schemes they portray on the instructions are beyond me, certainly it is a black art indeed. No doubt these are some of the craziest late war schemes I have ever seen.
When there is doubt about a color or marking they are kind enough to say so.
