The cosmic mother Hel
Before the Aesir- cult came to the North
of Europe our ancestors worshipped
one common goddess. She reigned over fertility, life, birth and
death - the cosmic mother Hel.
We are a group of researchers, who search for the ancient history of the
North.
Our name is Helandia.
Helandia
We are specially interested in the so called
"golden age", a matriarchal society which existed for many thousand
years and preceded our patriarchy of today. We want to meet women and men
who are interested in this subject. The basis of our researches are myths,
place- names, language, literature,
archeological findings and intuition.
Our aim is to form study and meditation
circles, who in the beginning shall be based on the scientific achievements,
published in the books of Gunnel
and Göran Liljenroth "Folket
bortom nordanvinden. Från matriarkat till mansvälde."(The
people behind the north wind. From matriarchy to men’s domination)
and
"HEL - Den gömda
gudinnan i nordisk mytologi."
(HEL- the hidden goddess in the northern mythology).
(Both books are untill now only published in swedish)
