Hiding hedgehog

I like to come out on the summer night and start listening to the sounds around. I have learned actually to locate the hedgehog after the sound! It takes just a bit of practice. It is really exciting thing to do, especially when it results in a success. Nights in the north of Sweden are rather bright, for a long time in the summer and this gives and extra advantage to find hedgehogs. However, later on in the season listening to them moving around might be quite an adventure. Try yourself!

A tip: a walking hedgehog does not care about the amount of noise he is creating. Sometimes you would expect a much bigger animal to be in the bush you are observing, but instead a clamsy looking hedgehog can show up!
