I observed, that young hoglets will come to a feeding place and I am afraid probably mainly "live on" the food supplied there. Older hedgehogs will wander around, often they will eat some of the displayed food and after a while they will move on and search for insects in the grass, dig and snuff. Hedgehogs fed by us in the end of summer usually liked some sort of cat food (usually the most expensive one!), eggs, pancakes and of course water. An adult hedgehog can eat as much as a cat!
