FairligHTML

About

The first and only HTML viewer for the good old C64... Yes it's here, and it's called: FairligHTML Version 0.99 is here which is the only Shareware version to come! There is also a 1.00 version available for registered users who wants more functions and features. I'm asking a small fee for the registered version... I wish to finance a SuperCPU and continue to support the FairligHTML!

Features

The registered version uses memory from about $3000 to $d000 for the text so files up to 35k should be OK to load. The shareware version has a bit less memory available for your documents. The HTML parser in the viewer allows the following HTML commands to be decoded:
HTML /HTML
HEAD /HEAD
TITLE /TITLE
BODY /BODY
HR as well as HR with parameters, but those parameters are ignored!
P
BR
A NAME
A HREF
/A
H1, H2...
CENTER /CENTER
PRE /PRE
IMG (only in registered version)
Some HTML commands (as the header-commands, H1, H2 etc.) may contain additional parameters for how to center the line. Example: H1 align="center" or H2 align="right"...

Other commands than specifyed above are ignored and should not mess up the viewer (I hope).

Multiple spaces are ignored unless the PRE-mode is entered where everything is displayed as entered...

Charset

The viewer is running in charactermode which means that no graphics will be displayed. The characterset used is a stripped ISO8859-1 so that both normal and bold characters can be squeezed into a normal characterset. The characters that are not defined will show up as a dot! Right now characters from $20 to $7f are displayed in plain and bold style. There are still space for some $20 characters that will be choosen from the upper $80 chars, but still some characters are "lost" and will be displayed as a dot.

Keys to use in the viewer

In the viewer you use the cursor keys to scroll the text. "T" will take you to the top and "B" to the bottom of the text. Links are in a seperate colour and moving the cursor to a link, pressing return will load the specified file. "C" will propt you for a command to the current diskdevice. "L" will prompt you for a filename to load. "A" shows an about screen. "H" shows the built in helpscreen. "O" shows the optionsmenu where you can change devicenumber and change colours. "D" and the directory will show up as a HTML document and the files will be ative links making it possible to just click the right file!

I found and bought a 1351 mouse the other day so there will be support for that device aswell. Maybe also a Joystick driver if anyone request that...

Downloading

The shareware version is available and can be found in the downloaded-area!

The German magazine "64'er" was interested in FairligHTML so I have made a special version, the "64erHTMLviewer". This program was sold to MagnaMedia in September! LEO at 64'er has even made a homepage for "64erHTMLviewer", which is also available for download at their site! LEO should also have the credits for the "FairligHTML-logotype" at the frontpage!
Take a look at the 64'er site Enjoy!
