A transparent gif with a nice 3d effect to it. (I added the background so you can see the transparence). 
I had a "golden era" a few weeks ago. Tried to make them look like a ring without too much shine to it. I beveled it and used a drop shadow. 
Same as the one above, just different background and elevation. 
I created this thing in GIMP (a program developed under the GNU public license, which makes it free). I used the lava as background, and then used the alien glow script and added two layers of the glow to make it stand out more. 
Same one, but I used Paint Shop Pro 6.0 button-effect. 
This is a GIMP product. I used the rain pattern, which is included in GIMP. And after that I beveled it.

I gave it a marble look and beveled it a couple of times, and a drop shadow was added. 
I use this picture on a home page for a chatroom. #Växjö. Made in GIMP. The buttons you use to navigate my pages are made in PSP 6.0. I got the design from an old car stereo. Everything on this page is made by yours truly, and expect you to respect the effort I put into creating all this.
