Welcome to the Quivermaking guide
So... You have now made some arrows to use for live roleplaying games, but you don't
have anything to put them in? Make a quiver! Just follow these simple instructions and you
will get a quiver that makes all your lrpg friends go wild! These instructions are for four
arrows, but if you want a bigger quiver, simply use larger measurements.
If you have questions about making lrpg arrows go to:
http://www.here-be-dragons.demon.co.uk/pages/arrows.htm.
What do you need?
You need: (this is more than you need, just to bee on the safe side)
1x1 meters of cardboard
1x1 meters of leather (fake or real, that's up to your wallet)
4-5 meters of leather string
Glue
Something to make holes with
Scissors
A ruler
A pen
Making the quiver!
| First, take the cardboard and cut out a 60 x 60 cm square and make a tube that is 50 to 60
cm high and has a diameter of 15 cm. |
 |
| Then mark out a cirkle with a diameter of 15 cm on another piece of cardboard and then cut
it like a sun. |
 |
| Fold the small triangels on the cirkle so they stand straight up and glue it to the
tube. Put the triangles on the inside of the tube. |
 |
| Now you should have a cardboard tube with a bottom! Take the leather (I used fake, that's
a lot better for the wallet) and cut out a 50x70 cm square. |
 |
| Also cut out a cirkle with the diameter of about 18 cm. |
 |
| Now, thake the 50x70 piece of leather and make holes out in the two edges, like the picture.
The holes should have the same size as the string, and they should be 2-3 cm from the edge and
about 3 cm from the bottom and 5 cm apart. Ten holes on each side.
Then put the leather around the cardboard tube and put the string throug the holes to make it
look nice (don't use glue to attach the leather to the tube). |
 |
| Now, when you have a leather-cardboard tube, take the round piece of leather and attatch it
to the bottom of the leather-tube like the picture (don't attach it to the cardboard). |
 |
| Fold down the top of the leather so that it goes inside the cardboard tube. Then make holes
through both layers of leather and the cardboard and put the string through the holes like you
did with the bottom part. |
 |
| Now you almost have a complete quiver. You only need something to carry it with. Make holes,
like the picture says, and take a 70 cm long and 5 cm wide piece of leather and use some string
to attach it to the quiver. Try the length of the string before you tie a to strong knot. If the
quiver slides down when you wear it, simply make another 70x5 cm piece of leather and attach it
to the same string as the first piece, and then wear it as a backpack... |
 |
| Now you have a nice quiver looking something like the picture to the right (Click for a
larger view). Sorry if the english wasn't completely correct, but I hope that it is
comprehensible. |
