Popcorn Sometimes fun to read. The violence got tiresome after a point, I must admit. The hostage scene was too long. I disliked the character Bruce. He is too self absorbed to have any sympathy for. Bruce's captor demands that he make a forced statement on television before an injured woman in his home can have medical attention and Bruce's daughter Velvet can leave. Bruce is more concerned about how the statement, made under duress, will affect his image. The lives of his daughter and the dying woman are of secondary importance to him. Bruce opts for a time consuming debate which ultimately result in the deaths of Bruce's wife, daughter, girlfriend, television interviewer, and cameraman, and his psychopathic captor. Bruce survives unfortunately. If they make a movie of this book, I'll be sure to miss it.
