Notes from a Small Island Highly amusing. When I was stranded at an airport in Oslo waiting for a delayed plane, this book was a lifesaver. Bill Bryson in an American journalist that has been living in UK for many years. When he and his family decided to move to USA, he made a last journey around Britain, and scribbled down this book about the journey. The book is really funny and is loaded with comments about life in general and Britain and British people in particular. Brysons' slightly cynical view on things is really amusing, and he manages to find those little details that we all think about. Since the book contains of many small stories, it is ideal to bring on your busride to/from work. I shall now dig into "Notes from a Big country".
