Folkets Park, Motala(Sweden) 181100
I went down to Motala(great place for metal) again to watch "Motala Metal Festival" for the second time.
This time I went to see Edguy. Last time it was Stratovarius that were on the menu.
There were eight bands alltogether that were playing this evening. For example Iron Fire.. But the only band
except for Edguy that were worth to see was the swedish band Stormwind. They were great!
It's a neo-classical metal-band with great musicians. Check their latest CD "Ressurection" out!
But I'm not writing about Stormwind so I'd better stop doing that..
When it was time for the Edguy's the atmosphere was great. And when the intro started I got quite surprised.
The had the theme from the swedish figure "Pippi Långstrump" as intro music. That was really great.
It made me feel at home. Well, I was at home! ;)
The show was great! Though the fact that Eggi(the basist) wasn't there.. He had to go back to Germany the day before
or something due to some personal matters.. :( Which naturally caused some problems.
But instead of cancelling the show(thanks!),
the guitar-tech - Dominik played some bass and also Tobi(Sammet) did some songs with the four-string.
So we got the show anyway :)
He(Tobi) ran around like a maniac on the small stage all the time, but I think that his singing was great anyway.
In all: The show was great, but a bit shorter than normal since this was a festival with more bands playing..
