The Swiss-Israeli Ranger UAV, unmanned aerial vehicle, is the first UAV that has been taken into service in Finland. UAVīs are quite new in the Finnish
defence forces and are being further developed to fit the Finnish requirements. Since UAVīs are mainly usefull in finding
and getting a positive identification of targets, they are based with the Artillery Brigade in Niinisalo.
The launcher is Finnish-made. The Ranger's primary sensors is a dual TV camera and IR sensor mounted in a rotating retractable turret.
