NH-90

In 2001 Finland ordered 20 NH-90 helicopters. The Finnish helicopters are in the tactical troop transport configuration. Delivery of the helicopters is to begin in 2004, and they are expected to be operational in 2008. They will be used as tactical troop deployment helicopters within the readiness brigades. Each helicopter can transport 16 soldiers with light combat gear, giving the total transport capacity of 320 soldiers. They will also be used for search and rescue.
