These recoilless guns, "Musti" as they have been nicknamed, are mainly used
in the infantry brigades, they would propably be encountered in some numbers
in use with the local troops too. With a modern sight with laser rangefinder
they are accurate weapons (even at night with their night vision scope) but
have been considered quite ineffective for some while. However with modern finnish-developed
ammunition that are able to defeat ERA, they are now also effective against
MBT´s, mainly against the russian T-series. Even if these types of guns are
considered obsolete and have been withdrawn from service in many countries the
finnish "Musti" has one clear advantage over many of the other types. With a
weight of 140 kg its crew can push, pull and even carry it almost everywhere,
which of course is a huge advantage in the finnish forests. As a comparison
the similar swedish 90 mm PV-1110 had a weight of 260 kg. Mustis can also easily
be mounted on a open-top Bv 206 or Nasu tracked all-terrain vehicles, or some
other light cross-country vehicle.
