2002 Finland ordered four batteries of the german anti-aircraft missile system
ASRAD-R. One for each readiness brigade and one to complement the anti-aircraft missile
defence of the finnish capital Helsinki. The missiles are swedish, BOLIDE and made
by Bofors. They are a development
of the RBS-70 missile, and are unjammable since the gunner guides the missile with
laser. The two southern readiness brigades will use Unimog 5000 all terrain vehicles
and the northern will mount the missile system on a "Nasu" tracked vehicle, because of the difficult terrain
up in the north.
