The Swedish history of Mine Detection Dogs
Swedish Armed Forces started to observe the use of mine detection dogs in the begining of W.W.II. Most of the involved countries then used some kind of mine detector dogs.
The first Swedish trials were conducted in 1944 by an initiative by Stockholm University. The trials were performed at the former Armed Forces research centre in the archipelago outside Stockholm. The trials were a fiasco!
