E-flat clarinet
The E-flat clarinet is a really tiny fellow, some people call it baby-clarinet.
It is not much bigger than a recorder, and will sound very bright, almost as
bright as the piccolo flute. It was constructed in the early days to replace
the high trumpet or cornet. If you listen to a very skilled clarinettist
playing the high register on the E-flat it will almost sound like the trumpet.
This clarinet is so small it is often build in only 4 pieces (the bigger
ones has 5). The middle joint is missing.
