Changing Colors
There are three ways to change colors in Win9x and a fourth one, maybe more belonging to the window changers section:

1.
Standard Windows Color Changer
2.
Registry Files - Containing a colortheme for the above.
3.
Colorchanger Programs - Change those 'hidden' colors.
4.
WindowPictures - A program that texturizes almost everything.

Standard Windows Color Changer
To use it, right click on the desktop, choose properties and select the 'Appearance' tab. Here you can select premade themes or make one yourself. The easiest way is to click in the example image on the detail you want to change color on, and then select the wanted color. But if you don't browse yourself through the middle listbox to the left, you will miss some colors. If you want to save your colortheme just select 'Save as...' and select a name of your theme. Now your theme will be available in the 'theme' listbox.
Is there something you want to change but you can't find it? Read the 'Color Changer Progams'.

Registry Files
Sometimes somebody distributes his colortheme as a registry file (.reg). To use it just run it and then it should be available in the Windows Colortheme listbox. See above.
How do you get your theme to a registry file? I'm not sure. Maybe some program will do the jobb or you can look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes of the registry and somehow save it to a file.
It's easier to use the next type of color changing.

Color Changer Programs
A program made to let you change more colors than Windows' colorchanger. I'll describe 3D Color Changer, since I don't know of any other yet. (Check 'Programs' Section for 3DCC98.)

3DCC let you change some 'hidden' colors of Windows, mostly the 3D look. This can make some cooler looks possible than the standard colorchanger. For examples check the screenshots section or download the program and look at some of it's premade themes. Or check this
example of the inverse theme.
The current version of 3DCC (98) isn't very easy to use, but it isn't too hard either. The next version (99) is supposed to be more userfriendly.

WindowPictures
Since this program texturizes every single colored surface of windows, I think it should be mentioned. For more info check the 'Win Changers' section or take a look at the screenshots.
