»I´ll become
a
producer, engineer and mixer«
This interview was originally intended for: Daylight
Suffering.
Made by Mårten Jacobsson in July 2002.
This time I
had the pleasure to speak to Aksu Hanttu, the
drummer of Entwine.
Mårten:
How do you describe your music to someone who haven't ever heard of
Entwine?
Aksu: Melodic/Gothic, Metal/Rock
Mårten:
What are your goals with Entwine? How far can you go?
Aksu: We have already done some goals and it feels good. But of course we
want
more and more and we want to get as far as it ever possible.
Mårten:
What is the music-climate like in Finland? I think there are some real
good
bands coming from your homecountry right now.
Aksu: Yeah, we have very good scene here in Finland. Here are very much very
good bands and more to come all the time. I think Finnish music culture
spends the best of days right now and it looks like that these good days could
continue and grow to even better days.
Mårten:
Do you have any fun touring-memory to share?
Aksu: Oh, there are so much funny tour memories.. And now in afterwards they
never sounds like so funny as on the right moment.
Mårten:
Can you survive on your music or do you have any work beside the music?
Aksu: Not yet. Mikkola have a job in a big local bakery,
Tauriainen just
hanging around, Jaani studies in senior high school´s evening line,
Miettinen studies some computer stuff,
Heikkonen spends a lot of time with
her about one year old baby and I study a music technology. So I´ll become
a
producer, engineer and mixer.
Mårten:
How will your next record sound?
Aksu: It´s very hard to say it right now because there are not so much time
from the release of »Time of Despair« album. But we already have some
riffs
and one almost ready song. It sounds very good!
Mårten:
What is the best thing about being in Entwine?
Aksu: Our first European tour on last spring was maybe the coolest thing
that I have ever done in my life. So, maybe tours are the best thing about
being in Entwine.
Mårten:
What can we expect from a Entwine-show?
Aksu: Pretty hard rocking on the stage. Everybody says that we sounds more
heavy live. There aren't any special lighting effects, pyrotechnics or
dancing girls yet.
Many thanks
for this interview.
