Regarding this site...

After scanning the internet on several occasions for music related information, I soon became aware that certain information was quite rare and that certain existing facts was relatively hard to localize in the enormous information flood. Consequently, I decided to take things in own hands and add some information to the net by myself. The purpose of this site is therefore solely to provide you with quite obscure, but interesting and relevant musical facts.

Rhodes Mark I with a Swedish Hagström bass amplifier.

The red line through out this site is that all information are strongly related to the African-American music tradition and its history. In other words to musical genres such as: jazz, blues, soul and gospel, and similar music forms. I who has made this site, is no authority on the history of music, and this site has been created purely in plain enthusiasm in a non-commercial purpose. Please keep that in mind if you should bump into any factual errors.

I am, however, a bit of a hobby musician, and have vocals and the electric guitar as my main instruments. I also play a little funk and blues piano on special occasions, and sometimes even a little blues harp as well.

I am also a happy and a proud owner of a Rhodes Mark I electric piano in mint condition. Both the Mark I and its Hagström bass amplifier can be viewed on the picture to the left.

I have also had the great opportunity to study music for a year (1997-98), at Gospellinjen (a music program especially focused on gospel music) at Glimåkra Folkhögskola, Glimåkra Sweden, something I can strongly recommend. Furthermore, I have also had the great privilege to study music and history at North Park University in Chicago, USA the spring semester of 2000. Currently I am a student at the Master's program for International Economics & Politics at the University of Jönköping, Sweden.

Anyway, I hope this site has filled it's purpose. Sooooo, nuff said....

Enjoy, David
