Ch Pr S*Chandini's Toulouse, lilac-pointed Siamese
Toulouse, that's actually his name even in his pedigree
- Ch Pr S*Chandini's Toulouse - was born on December 4th 1994. It was Porsche's first litter
and the dad, GIC Taifun Tom Puss, was a chocolate-pointed Siamese boy bred and owned by Annelie
Johansson in Nacka. Tom Puss is a handsome boy who unfortunately did not father many kittens.Eric had been kind enough to go to his mother's 70th birthday in Skane that weekend so Eva was to be alone the first time Porsche was to give birth. It wasn't that bad though as Annelie came over and gave her a helping hand. Toulouse is the firstborn in the litter and was, according to Annelie, extreme in his skull form at birth. He developed well together with his siblings Trixie and Thomas OŽ Malley. Toulouse has always had the faculty for getting noticed one way or another. He is for instance the one and only kitten we have had returned after delivery. He was sold to a couple of friends who had a housecat but wanted a Siamese as well. Unfortunately their little two-legged child was just learning to walk at the same time that Toulouse moved in with them. Toulouse was not used to having that much competition for attention so he got upset and told everybody about it very loudly.
Furthermore it's quite normal for a sexually mature male cat to adopt a kind of behaviour that is very hard to accept and forgive. But with the patience of an angel and the strength of the devil we managed to hold him unneutered long enough to get him a few matings.
Helen Flytstroms Ming, whose real name is La Bell Dashing Doremi and is a Havanna, gave birth to four cute little kittens after Toulouse had paid her a visit. One Havanna boy, a chocolate-pointed Siamese boy, and two lilac-pointed Siamese girls were the result. Helen has kept one of the lilac-pointed girls, Maya, and Toulouse is now to be a grandfather. That anyone so childish could be a grandparent is a wonder in my book, but nevertheless, it's true.
We have to enjoy the fact that his genes at least are maintained and that a unneutered progeny
is left, and is even used in breeding.
Maya's first litter was born last Thursday (97 07 03) and consisted of two girls. Maya's mother, Ming,
got a litter a few days earlier so now Helen has seven kittens! New reports on the kittens when
there is something new to tell about.
All the kittens are fine and since the mothers where abel to move
in to the same birthcage, instead of one each, everything is fine. Earlier Ming tried to steel
Maya's kittens in a cunning way. She went to the hall and cried pitiful. Since Maya is a well-
mannered girl she went to see what was going on, whereupon Ming quickly got one of Maya's kits.
Now everything is better. Both the mothers lies tenderly wrapped together in the same birthcage and feed their children. One of Ming's girls seemes to like her older sister because she eats just as often from Maya as from Ming. Now they have grown up to be big enough to leave the house and they are all sold (970917) Toulouse and the other three cats sometimes have to take a ride by car, something they loudly hate, to get to our summer cottage in Malmkoping for weekends and holidays. Once we are there it seems to be worth the trouble. They can be outdoors as much as they want, even if they have to wear collars with small bells to prevent them from hurting the birds.
Right now Toulouse can be seen, among with a lot of other beatiful Siameses, at a 'Cyberexhibition' for cats at Siameslinjens hemsite. (All in Swedish but nice pictures)
