What it's all about

" It seems anyone can say they are an artist today, probably because so much goes under the name of art that it becomes difficult to identify what art is and what art isn't; what function
it fulfills, or if art has, has had, has sought, or has cared for a function at all. Perhaps the 21st century artists should reconsider the unaccountablility of art, start to grow up,
and join the real world"
Denis Taylor..W.O.R.K exhibition art director

"Heart 2 Art" is an exhibition which has a clear mandate
of its function and what kind of art will be featured.

The exhibition part of the after 5 years later project, commissioned by D.I.S (an international support group
for survivors and relatives of tragedies) will display an art
which has a real direction. It will show art which is endowed with hope as well as ability.

Its function is to bring people together in an atmosphere
of positiveness with a view to restore belief and give to the viewer an inspired and dynamic attitude toward everyday life.

Why five countries ?

Five countries have been selected by D.I.S to exhibit "Heart to Art". Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Great Britain. These countries have been chosen due their populations having been affected by recent catastrophies, ie: MS Estonia, (now over five years ago) Similar incidents remain in the minds and hearts of those who feel a connection with this disaster.

The relevance and need of "Heart to Art" as a unifying entity
for all these people should not go unnoted. It is hoped to exhibit in the capitals of each country, but more importantly that each selected venue will give the exhibition the greatest possibility to reach as many people as possible to maximize its objectives.

A virtual reality exhibition, available through the www, is planned to reach out to people in countries other than those which will host the real world exhibition.
