Carina
Ridenius is one of the most prominent
mezzo-sopranos in Sweden today. She has a warm and pleasant voice and sings with
charisma, joy and vivid realisation. Educated at Operastudio -67 and University
College of Music Education in Stockholm, she also has a Master of Arts in Music and
Drama. She often attends various master classes such as
Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum in Salzburg.
Opera is her primary field, but she has a broad repertoire including operetta, musical, chamber music and very appreciated lied programs. Worked earlier as a chorus member in one if the worlds most modern opera houses - the Gothenburg Opera, and has a lot of scenic experience and has worked with prominent and well known directors and conductors such as Otto Schenk, David Radok, Leif Segerstam and Sixten Ehrling.
Her performances includes Sharon Graham in "Master Class" by Terence McNally at Betty Nansen Teatret in Copenhagen with director Daniel Bohr, Rosa in "Le cantatrici villane" by V. Fioravanti at Teater 1 in Gothenburg with Marie Radok as director, Fidalma in "Il matrimonio segreto" by Cimarosa in Stockholm with Miklos Kundler as director, among others. Her singing ability has also rendered her several awards.
