About

Jussi lives in Sweden, in the town Hyltebruk. He own a artstudio in the center of the city and a house nearby.

When he isn´t working with his art or spends time with his wife and sons, he take joy in his hobbys. Such as golf, bowling and watching TV.

He is really passionate with his hobbys, especially golf. He finds it both relaxing and as a good way to exercise.

Early life

Jussi orginally comes from Finland. He lived there in his early life and it wasn´t until he was 20 years old he and his sister Annika moved to sweden. They first was on their way to explore Europe, but they stopped in sweden for a while to earn some money, but later the plans changed and Jussi stayed in Sweden while Annika moved back to Finland. The whole Raatevaara family has a great intressest in art. Jussi has allways been intressted in art, but he first began as a "full- time" professional artist for about 15 years ago. His first public exhibition was 1978.

Later life

He lived in several cities with different occupations besides art before he around the early 70´s settled in Hyltebruk, it was here he met his wife Ulla. You can notise a change of styles over the years. He never went to a art-school because he wanted to experiment a own unique style. So it is almost impossible to place his style in a " -ism".
