Band Biography

Tourniquet started in the beginning of 1990 in Los Angeles, California by drummer Ted Kirkpatrick, guitar player Gary Lenaire and lead singer Guy Ritter. Soon after their start Tourniquet bagan to writing songs and recording demos and soon they got signed by Intense Records. The first song they ever performed as Tourniquet was You Get What You Pray For, it was also the first single they released on Intense and they recived really good response for it. The single spent an unpresedented twenty-one weeks atop the CCM metal charts. Later this year Tourniquet released their first full lenght album which was called "Stop The Bleeding" which showed us a band with very talented musicians and great thoughtful lyrics. Tourniquet became fast the favourite band among many Christian "Metal Heads". One year later Tourniquet released their second album called "Psycho Surgery" wich took the band into a new direction with a more thrash oriented sound.
