In 1989 Christan and Simeon Liljegren formed a band called Borderline together with three other guys. After about two years the band split up because of different musical directions. Christan and Simeon wanted to go back to a more seventies oriented hard rock style. After a while Stefan Selvander who played guitar in Borderline and Mick Nordström joined the band and Modest Attraction was formed. Mick used to play drums in a band called Bengalen in the early eightes and together with them he had made one record, he also played with Leviticus on their american tour 1990. About a year later Stefan left the band because he wanted to continue his studies. So in February 1992 Stefan Mohlin joined the band on guitar. Soon after that Modest bagan to writing songs and recording demos. About a year later they got signed by Viva Records and in March 1994 they released their first record called "The Thruth In Your Face". Modest received very good reviews for the CD all around the world. Later this year Modest went back into the studio and recorded a Christmas E.P called Modest Christmas. The E.P included four songs; Modest Christmas which was a new written christmas song, a cover of the classic Larry Norman song Christmas Time, and two live recorded songs; Feed Your Fire and a new song called Give You My Song. Modest also played several live shows this year and received good attention for their seventies inspired stage show. In 1995 Modest began to writing songs and recording demos for their next CD, and in March 1996 Divine Luxuary was finished. This time Modest chosed to make an independent release without any record company backing them up. After recording Divine Luxury Stefan decided to left the band and got replaced by the talented guitarist Carl-Johan Grimark former guitar player of Sentinel. In May 1996 Modest went down to Germany for a spring tour, in Germany Modest also did a festival apperance together with Deliverance and their Swedish friends Charizma. Christian and Carl-Johan is also working on a side project called Narnia and will soon be releasing their debut CD on Pony Canyon which is the biggest record comapny in Asia, the same label as Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Lynn Turner(ex Deep Purple, Rainbow). Narnia plays great melodic hardrock.

MODEST ATTRACTION: Divine Luxury (Naxos) The young swedish boys in Modest Attraction are stealing lustfully and shameless riffs from old hits from the seventies and create a feeling that is hard to find with the bands of today. The singer has a powerful tremolo, which fits the songs perfect. Listen to "Everone's a star" and break down, So good. The drummer is extremely tight and you can hear that the whole band have venture their souls in this, the Godly lyrics we can overlook. Now when Kiss and Sweet only are silly shadows of what they used to be, when Rainbow lost the grasp, Deep Purple changed style and Uriah Heep disappeared, is now Modest Attraction a perfect alternative. Here is still hunger and energy!
