Where does Santa Claus live?

People all over the word ask the same question every year. Where does Santa Claus live? The three most common answers are: The North Pole, Northern Finland, or Northern Sweden. I live in Sweden myself, and here people think he lives in Finland, in a place called "Korvatunturi"which is probably a Lappish word. It would be pretty tough for Santa to live at the North Pole, because there is nothing but ice up there, no mainland (like at the South Pole for instance).

So, let's say Santa lives in Northern Finland. Now more questions pop up. What does he do all year, when it's not Christmas time? Nobody knows, since no human has ever spoken to Santa Claus (the ones you see in the supermarket are faked ones, so are the ones that come to families and say "HO HO HO"). So, I'll probably have to guess: He supervises all his elves, so that they produce the right amount of toys and other presents, that they wrap them properly and put them in the right sacks. Maybe he helps them too, but he's probably too old and fat. This goes on all year, as far as I can see.

I don't know if his elves grow up, or if they remain young until they die, (IF they die, that is). Nor do I know whether they are human beings or not. (Why do I answer all these questions if I don't know the answer? If somebody knows more than I do, mail me at winter@tripnet.se ).
