My project:

I started my PhD-studies in 1997, the same year as I got my MSc in soil science. My PhD project deals with nitrogen turnover in spruce forest ecosystems in relation to high nitrogen deposition. This includes effects on nitrogen mineralisation, nitrification and nitrogen leaching, root turnover, the availability of amino acids in soils and soil water, and the ability of some mycorrhiza species to use different forms of nitrogen. The project includes both field measurements, laboratory experiments and modelling.
