Was your first guitar a Hagstrom? You're not alone, especially here in Sweden. When I was young, everybody wanted a Fender or a Gibson, but since they were far to expensive, Hagstrom seemed to be a good choice.

My first contact with a Hagstrom instrument, except for my daddy's accordion, was probably my best friends electric guitar when I was 14. I have to say probably since it was so substantial modified that it was impossible to tell what guitar it originally was, but he always claimed it was a Hagstrom and I have no reason not to believe him. Later memories includes a friends rare Swede bass on which he managed to break the neck, my band's PA-amplifier PA-100 and a H II N which I swapped for a H II BN bass.

While browsing and searching the Internet for Hagstrom, it struck me how little information there was about Hagstrom out there. Not long ago, search engines mostly pointed out pages where someone was mentioning Hagstrom as his first guitar or a link to marketplace where someone wanted to sell or buy a Hagstrom, but things have changed and you can now find at least eight Hagstrom related sites on the net. My intention when I started The Hagstrom Pages in May '98 was just to fill the gap that existed at the time. I'm not a expert, collector or a total Hagstrom freak, in fact I only own a H II BN bass.

Since there is a big interest in foreign countries, particularly in the USA and Canada, which were big export markets, I have made the pages in both swedish and english.
