About the Authors of Physics Handbook

As professor of atomic- and molecular physics Carl Nordling has for many years been involved in teaching and research at Uppsala University. He has been doing research in the fields of electron-, soft X-ray-, and beam-laser spectroscopy.

From 1987 to 1993 Carl Nordling was Secretary General of the Swedish natural science reasearch council. He is member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and has been chairman of its Nobel Commitee for physics.
Jonny Österman, Master of Science in Engineering Physics and Computer Technology, works as a computer software consultant in his own company. Physics and mathematics has always taken a great part of Jonny's life, and in his spare time he especially likes to read about cosmology.

As a computer consultant Jonny Österman works with Oracle databases, SQL Windows, and advanced Excel programming. During the 1980's Jonny created software tools for APL programmers which were sold in several countries. On his home page you can download games which Jonny gives away to anyone who is fond of playing with the computer.
