Who is SM3AFR

Tom, SM3AFR - SM3A - SF3C

DXCC 1 HONOROLL 351 (341) CURRENT COUNTRIES

My interest in Ham Radio (Amateur Radio) started 1958. I started to study for my Ham Radio license and I took my first license in the beginning of 1960 when I was 15 years old and I managed to pass both the CW and the theory test at my first attempt. I upgraded to the "class A” a short time later. What a great hobby we have, I am still enjoying this great hobby 50 years later and look forward to many more years.

I am active on most of the Ham Radio frequencies; including the WARC bands. My current set-up includes a Yaesu FT-1000D, and a rotating tower with monobanders. I have wire antennas for 80 and 160. It's definitely nothing fancy, but it seems to get the job done. Ham Radio remains by far my favorite hobby. Currently, I am active DXer and I have also become active on RTTY and PSK.  You can hear me work rare and exotic DX on thouse mode too. I have DXCC 1 Honor Roll, 350  (340) current countries.
