ARSENAL SHIRTS:

The shirt collection. A tribute to the most well-dressed team in the world!

90s shirts

Season 90/91

The home shirt used during the incredible 90/91 season. Right: David Rocastle who sadly died a few weeks ago.

Season 91/92

Left: The 91/92 homeshirt, picture from the Football - Not Muggybonehead Shirt Catalogue, see links.

Right:Picture taken from Frankieīs Soccer shirt museum, see links. A beautiful shirt.

From Frankieīs museum.

Probably the ugliest fotball shirt ever made. The team used this shirt between 91 and 93.

Right: Picture taken from the Football - not Muggybonehead shirt catalogue.

More of this beauty!

Season 92/93

Home shirt used between 92 and 94.

Right: Picture taken from Frankieīs soccer shirt museum, see links.

Shirt probably used by player as there were no replicas made with long sleeves.

FA-Cup final shirt.

Pictures taken from Martinīs, Online-Trikot-Museum, see links.

European Cup Final shirt autographed by Alan Smith. This shirt was never used in the acual match.

Season 93/94

Away shirt used between 93 and 94. In 1993 you could see the player's name above his number for the first time.

Season 94/95

I don´t know anything about shirt. Probably some sort of protytope. Looks a bit like the Adidas 92-94 home shirt. (Thanks Paul Leroux for sending me the picture of this shirt.)

In 1995 Nike took over as Arsenal's kit supplier from Adidas who had been making Gunners' shirts for eight years.

Left: Home shirt 94 -96. Notice the Ziz-Zag/Gunners pattern in the fabric on this shirt.

Right: Shirt celebrating the Cup Winners Cup Final.

I personally like these shirts. The colours are nice, the pattern is ok. The only problem is the collar. It looks like the collar of a business shirt. Otherwise I think Nikeīs first shirt were rather nice.

Same with long sleeves.

Left: Away shirt used only during this season.

Right: Same shirt without collar.

Left: Third shirt used only twice. If you have one of these for sale let me know.

The 94/95 third shirt again.

Season 95/96

Nice away shirt (95/97) that celebrates the greatness of Flash Gordon.

Right: A prototype from that period.

Season 96/97

In 1996 Nike made this home shirt that proved so lucky in the 97/98 season. In my opinion this in one of the best looking home shirts ever made. Perfect for a season when everything went Wright!!!
This is how the shirts look without the JVC-logo. Itīs looks kind of empty. Something is missing. When you actually miss the commercial you can be sure that the enemy has won!

Long-sleeved playerīs shirt

The 96/97 away shirt.

Season 97/98

Wonderful away shirt. Who can forget when Overmars scored the only goal away at Old Trafford wearing this shirt. This shirt was the first to use Nikeīs Dri-Fit technology.

Right: Overmars shirt. Was it maybe this shirt he was wearing when he scored that magnificent goal?

Picture taken from the Fotball - Not Muggybonehead Shirt Catalogue. Go there if your interested in buying old Arsenal shirts.

Never used prototype shirts. The team was meant to use this model in the game against RC Lens in the Champions League in 1998, but instead they used an all blue shirt, as you hopefully can see on the pictures below..

The blue CL-shirt.

This all blue shirt didnīt bring us luck. The winning goal was offside and the performance by the Arsenal players wasnīt impressive in any way. I wonder if we even had a shot on goal! Maybe the combination, blue and Arsenal isnīt a match made in heaven.

Season 98/99

The new 98 home shirt, this shirt didn't give us any luck at all as we didn't win anything sporting this shirt.

Season 99/2000

For this season the Gunners changed shirt sponsor. For seventeen years they had been sponsored by JVC, now SEGA took over. Some of us still haven't gotten used to the new sponsor.
